The mittens themselves are the best way to keep your hands warm while hiking that I have found. You do not have the flexibility of use that gloves would provide but to keep warm they are the best I have used. Not fully waterproof but warm when wet and fast drying. Being mittens you do not have the problem of trying to find the finger holes when the lining is wet.

This boot has a wide toe box is comfortable even without a thick sock, but can accommodate any sock you like due to it having space to stretch a bit but still be snug. I got these because they were a good price and my previous pair that are about 5 years old have not much tread left. I am a heal heavy Walker but this is not the case with these boots, even wear, so better posture. I cannot recommend them more, as my old boots are still waterproof.
